Days Inn & Conference Centre Opens in Oromocto, New Brunswick

OROMOCTO, NB, April 11, 2006 – Days Inn & Conference Centre - Oromocto celebrated its grand opening on April 10 with a reception for 150 people featuring a series of Aboriginal ceremonies. The new construction, full service hotel is owned by Oromocto First Nation.

Grand opening events included an Aboriginal Smudging Ceremony performed by Charles ìWimpiî Solomon, Elder, Kingsclear First Nation and an Aboriginal Drumming Ceremony, performed by Ron Tremblay and The Welamooktook Chanters. The evening also featured performances by local musicians, guest speakers, property tours and a ribbon cutting ceremony. Some of the special guests in attendance included Jody Carr, MLA, Oromocto Gagetown; Mayor Fay Tidd, Town of Oromocto; Lt.-Col Paul Kearney, Chief of Staff, CFB Gagetown and Irwin Prince, President & COO, Days Inns - Canada.
